Cingular Buys AT&T Wireless
Early today Cingular Wireless bought up AT&T Wireless for $41bn in cash. When the deal finally clears, Cingular will be the #1 wireless carrier in the United States and beat Verizon Wireless. Details here on C|Net News.

Verizon is not in competition with Cingular. Perhaps you are refering to Verizon Wirless, with the nations best coverage?
