Super Duper
How do you deal with people who play around with your creative juices to make money for themselves?
Recently in the mail, I got a letter. The details aren't exactly word to word but this more or less grabs the essence.
"Dear Padmini,
We have selected your story to be in our super duper double bound hard back copy of a book we are publishing. To see your story in our super duper double bound hard back copy, we will sell you the super duper double bound hard back copy at a reduced super duper price and that means your creative juices saves you 9 pounds sterling! Is that not a super duper offer?
Love the super duper people at,
Wherever they are"
Isn't that absolutely thrilling? Oh my heart beats as loudly as the drums the Africans use when they engage in sacrificial ceremonies.
The point is, I want a super duper amount of money for my article, much more that the super duper double bound hard back book is worth. I don't want to pay a super duper amount along with my super duper services. So, dear reader, put your efforts where only Newton's third law of motion comes into kick, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Though if the reaction pays more than the action, it doesn't hurt.
Oh my!! Is this THE _Padmini_?!?
I think you convince the person either
A) pay you
B) share profits
or best of all C) make the entire thing free to relieve the creative act from the burden of return on investment.
