Career
My career spans a little more than 10 years of working in one capacity or another with something to do with the internet. I started out as a Computer Systems Consultant at the University of Michigan in 1996 while studying there. I learned the fundamentals of networked technologies and applications and very quickly mastered them to become a Senior Consultant heading up multiple projects while simultaneously attending classes.
Following that, I became a New Media Specialist/ Information Architect at the ground breaking Media Union at the University. I created and helped with the creation of multiple online applications for use by students and faculty. I refined my skills as a critical thinker and user experience architect and prepared myself for corporate America.
Graduating in 2000 with a customised degree, I came to Los Angeles to work at the Beverly Hills based interactive marketing agency DNA Studio as an Information Architect. Within a few short months I was named Director, Information Architecture and in the nearly 4 years that I was there, I was integral to over 250 projects from concept to delivery. Along with Brandon Edwards, I helped DNA define their user experience product and make it one of the finest in the industry. In 2004, I was named Vice President of Global Operations and charged with the global expansion of the company. Unfortunately given family committments I had to resign after a few months of taking on the role.
After DNA, I moved to RPA as a Senior Information Architect and user experience lead on the Honda Motorcyles account, and recently took on the responsibility for additional Honda web properties like Honda's Corporate portal and Honda Automobiles. Now, as the User Experience lead, I help define user experience and process management for all projects that relate to the various interactive initiatives at the agency ranging from engagements for Honda to SOYJOY and Pentax to Mandalay Bay.
Beyond RPA, I am not entirely sure what's ahead. Although, from the looks of what's brewing in my head, I am looking forward to it.
